The 10:02 Shinkansen shot us to Hiroshima with two stops in 90 minutes. Tram ride to the digs, a 3-bedroom flat in a recent block, 5 minutes walk from the Peace Memorial Park. Unlike our previous stops, everything we needed to see or do was within walking distance, so no trains or metro to get around.
Another okonomyaki lunch then over to the Dome and the Memorial Museum. Very moving and harrowing contemporary accounts of the bombing and aftermath.
Briefly back to the flat then out for a feast of oysters, for which Hiroshima is famous, at Ekohiki. Juicy scallop sashimi, and steamed and grilled oysters.
